Our Approach

How We Approach Every Landscape Design

Before we pick a single plant, we ask what you actually need this space to do — a yard for kids and dogs gets designed differently than one built for entertaining. Function comes first. From there, four principles guide the design:

Balance

We keep the yard visually even on both sides. Nine plants crowded on one side and one lonely plant on the other will always look off, no matter how nice each plant is on its own.

A Focal Point

Every finished yard should have one spot that draws the eye first — a specimen tree, a fire feature, an accent wall. We design everything else to support that feature, not compete with it.

One Theme

Plants and materials that belong together get grouped together. Keeping desert-friendly plants in the same area looks intentional, and lets them share one irrigation zone — which saves you water.

A Natural Flow

Your eye, and your feet, should move through the yard in a logical order — not jump between unrelated features. Good flow is what makes a finished space feel calm instead of cluttered.

Custom Build-Outs

We Build More Than the Basics

Pavers and turf are just the starting point. When a design calls for something different, we build it — bocce courts, elevated patios, custom driveway surfaces, and tight side yards that still feel finished.

Bocce Ball Courts

A regulation-style court built into the yard, framed and leveled like it belongs there — not bolted on as an afterthought.

Elevated Patios & Retaining Walls

Sloped or uneven lots become usable, level outdoor space — tiered walls and elevated pads built to hold, not just look good.

Kool deck concrete patio installation in Las Vegas

Kool Deck Surrounds

A cooler, non-slip finish for pool decks and patios — built to handle direct summer sun without burning bare feet.

Chat and decomposed granite driveway installation in Las Vegas

Chat & Decomposed Granite Driveways

A budget-friendly, permeable alternative to solid pavers or concrete — compacted chat that drains well and holds up to Nevada heat.

Small backyard landscaping design in a Las Vegas side yard

Small Backyards, Done Right

Square footage isn't the limiting factor — planning is. We make tight side yards and small backyards feel intentional, not cramped.

Custom Driveways & Turf Shapes

A poured concrete driveway, custom steps, and a turf shape cut to fit the lot instead of a generic rectangle — designed to match the front elevation, not just fill the space.

How It Works

Our Landscape Design Process

01

Free On-Site Consultation

We visit your property, walk the space, take measurements, and listen. You tell us what you want — we tell you what is realistic given your budget, soil, sun exposure, HOA rules, and SNWA requirements.

02

Design Concept & Material Selection

We develop a layout concept covering plant placement, groundcover selection, hardscape elements, and irrigation zoning. We walk you through material and plant options with real samples and completed project photos.

03

Review, Adjust & Approve

You review the concept. We adjust based on your feedback — budget constraints, HOA approval requirements, personal preferences. Nothing moves forward until you are fully aligned on scope and cost.

04

Installation

Our licensed crew installs everything per the agreed plan. We manage material delivery, irrigation, planting, and cleanup. You get a walk-through of the finished property and irrigation timer settings before we leave.

Common Questions

Landscape Design FAQ — Las Vegas

A free on-site visit where we measure your space, assess soil and drainage, discuss your goals and budget, and recommend plants, materials, and layout suited to the Las Vegas desert. We cover HOA requirements if applicable and provide a written scope before any work begins.

The initial consultation is free. Design fees depend on the scope — a simple front yard layout costs far less to design than a full backyard outdoor living space with hardscape, lighting, and irrigation. We provide itemized estimates before work begins.

Yes — SNWA-compliant design is one of our specialties. We select plants from the SNWA water-wise list, design drip systems that meet current schedules, and can help you qualify for rebates of up to $3 per square foot when converting grass to desert landscaping.

Yes. We design for HOA-governed communities throughout Henderson (Green Valley, Anthem, Inspirada) and Summerlin. We know typical ARC requirements around plant species, rock colors, and paver materials, and can advise before you submit an application.

Xeriscape design prioritizes drought-tolerant, desert-adapted plants — DG, native rock, agaves, shrubs — that need minimal irrigation once established. Standard designs may include higher water-use plants or lawn. In Las Vegas, most well-designed yards lean xeric for cost savings and SNWA compliance. We help you find the right balance.
